Oh it has been awhile hasn't it? This summer was kind of a lot and trying to do everything myself was overwhelming, to say the least. This was apparently a good week to come back, since the working list was relatively small ... although after almost an entire quarter away, it's equally possible I've missed a bunch. Ah well, I do the best I can.
Speaking of... I allude to it a few times in the notes, but just to be clear, my stance of genAI is that it shouldn't be used,
especially in the arts. It does a terrible job at what it does and devalues human labor. At the same time, I don't want to punish human artists for choices taken out of their hands or without firm basis. So. I will keep flagging if I
suspect some element(s) have been genslopped, but I will take the link away entirely for MVs that display hallmarks of being entirely slopped (the machines continue to have predictable quirks), and repeated major offenses will lead to a ban on the artist. This puts virtual idols and indies artists at the disadvantage, being the two classes more likely to take the easy out, but Jagu is tired. I don't really expect my coontinued protests to do much, but I can't just ignore the issue, either, so.
OKAY. Business out of the way, time to get on with it! I played a little loose with the start of this list - I think technically the first three probably shouldn't've made the cut, but ... xikers are my babies. And once I was back that far, well.... A bit of a slower week this week at only 44 videos, but we still managed to hit the big subgenres. Looking for rock? FTISLAND and CNBLUE are back with new music. R&B more your style? WetBoy teams up with Jo Hyunah for some trot-ish dance fun, plus comebacks from such groups as CLOSE YOUR EYES and X:IN. We're light on hiphop this week, with only H1GHER Music's collab of lIlBOI, BIG Naughty, pH-1, and Woodie Gochild up for a nod. Not sure what you want?
